FOR MORE AUTOMOTIVE NEWS VISIT: www.kbb.com The Audi R8 is a favorite among the staff at Kelley Blue Book. So when Audi added a second model to the R8 range featuring a more powerful 525-horsepower V10 our ears perked up. In this video KBB’s Micah Muzio drives the Audi R8 5.2 FSI Quattro and explains why it isn’t just a great car, it is his favorite car. For more new car reviews, interviews and automotive news visit www.kbb.com today.
Video Rating: 4 / 5

Full review: www.autoexpress.co.uk It’s priced competitively against 2.0-litre diesel rivals, and offers a different hybrid proposition to the Prius, mainly because it looks like a normal car. Just like its stablemate, the Auris is great around town. But the familiar hybrid foibles remain, with a harsh note under acceleration and average economy. So on the motorway, good though the newcomer is, we’d still recommend a diesel instead.

Comments

Not that I have? the 150k for this but I don’t know why he’s upset with the price? To get around 525hp in a 2 door you’d have to go to the American Cadillac CTS-V for 65/70k or up to the Lamborghini Gallardo for 220k plus. Personally this is a fair price, more so than the freaking Lexus LFA! I wouldn’t go CTS-V either. Still an American car at the end of the day, not a supercar.

Dear Santa, i would like a Audi R8 for christmas and if i get one i will never ask for? nothing else cause this car is all i need, Sincerely, I want a Audi R8

The Bugatti may be alot faster but in my opinion it looks like shit inside and out and that’s with? a lot of cars that are just about 1 think, speed. R8 beats them allll in by opinion

By IwantaLexusLFA on December 18th, 2011 at 3:54 am

I like this car but it’s not better than the Prius for two reasons:you can say everything about the Prius, but ugly or beauty is an icon today, his style is iconic. The other reason is the fuel efficiency wich is even better on the Prius? thanks to the better aerodinamic.

@rubos306
Just because Toyota Europe headquarters are in Belgium (Braine L’Alleud – south? of Bruxelles)

He is? defo drivin around Barcelona.

why do they have belgium? plates?

That’s? Spain, Barcelona.

By maxvandewiele on December 18th, 2011 at 6:13 am

Is? that in Belgium?

By seauryakumar on December 18th, 2011 at 6:22 am

I think its a nice city car
its cheaper and better looking? than Prius (full kitted one) and way cheaper than CT200h.
Plus exemptions of tax and congestion charge.

hm toyota plan 8 years into the? next maya calender segment? they nuts??

By supercooled on December 18th, 2011 at 7:09 am

This looks better than the? Prius.

By zapataalzate on December 18th, 2011 at 7:30 am

but they cannot make cheap hybrid cars yet…this one is almost as expensive as prius, I”ìll buy th prius for? a little more..

By zapataalzate on December 18th, 2011 at 8:28 am

but? they cannot make cheap hybrid cars yet…this one is almost as expensive as prius, I”ìll buy th prius for a little more..

i have drove this car? from midlands to london staying at 80 mph all the way did betwwen 60 and 75 mpg

By toyotaprius79 on December 18th, 2011 at 9:02 am

@McDaniel77 A Toyota is not a VW, Toyota would never use another manufacturer’s engine and VW the same. But car manufacturers can have an agreements like the Toyota Aygo,? Citroen C1 and Peugeot 107 they’re the same cars and have the same engines to reduce costs ect…

By CAESARbonds on December 18th, 2011 at 9:56 am

@eMWe
That is? a mistake in the Video. When Driving on a flat road after a hill you can drive much faster on electric juice only.

hybrid is better engine fail proof than it’s claim fuel economy.quite good for rich? people.no good for normal people like me.but i still wish to have one, because that might mean i am rich enough…XD

Great car and it looks good! BUT why don’t they use a CDI/TDI diesel engine? They could achieve 2-3 liter/100km if the use diesel instead of super.

What about topspeed, accelleration,? weight?

I like this car, maybe it’s my next one after my second VW Lupo 3L (tech from 1999, but still around 3 liter/100km !!!).

McDaniel-77

41mph? :D i probably would be unable to use the e.motor of this car? :D

By ThePetrolhead94 on December 18th, 2011 at 12:44 pm

why do they use a? 1.8 they should use a 1.4 for better econamy

That consumption? is way too high. You don’t need a hybrid for that.

By tranceracer on December 18th, 2011 at 2:03 pm

@kavakava1234
totally agree that they need to make a real station wagon.
in the? size of the volvo V70, Audi A6, BMW 5 series etc.

By tranceracer on December 18th, 2011 at 3:00 pm

in the city, hybrid drive truly shines.
need to pick up kids,? take the car
need to get the groceries, take the car
etc etc.
all this takes fuel and effects the environment and also the people breathing in the toxics.

if you take a walk in a big city, notice the heavier alot worse air to breathe.
then walk in a smaller town with less cars running in it (or the country side) and notice the difference.
with electric motor, no exhausts :)
they are expensive but soon enough might get cheeper.

By kavakava1234 on December 18th, 2011 at 3:19 pm

Nice! But now Toyota, bring us a real family wagon.
Prius is not big enough for all the stuff you need to carry with 2 kids or more.
But not this small backseat-windowed new Avensis, my kids want? to look and see something while driving. I won’t buy cars that are styled like that. No matter that it looks “nice”

By stevethegibbon on December 18th, 2011 at 3:38 pm

Good review, Many U.K. jobs hinge on this car being a success,? It looks a good product, because its lighter than a Prius, its even more economical. Honda dont make a full hybrid like this
